History
We bought this farm October 1994 following a dream to move out of the city.
In 1995 we built an independent living addition onto the main house and Lee's senior parents moved in with us.
They were able to live their own lives and we were here to assist when they needed help.In 1996 we built a
second addition and added 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms for a bed and breakfast operation. We ran this
successfully for 8 years having met people from all corners of the world.
In the year 2000 Lee's
mother passed away and her Dad eventually moved to a senior complex in Estevan close to other family.
In late 2003 we recognized a need in this area for intermediate senior care. Farm people are often reluctant
to move to the big city yet they need some assistance in their advancing years. They are not ready for a
nursing home and certainly don't qualify at this stage yet they do need some supervision and assistance. This
certainly satisfied our need to provide service for people so we started with seniors fulltime early in
2004. Our license is for 5 seniors each with their own room.
Over the years we have had the pleasure of offering a safe place for many seniors. Often their families are
concerned about them not wanting them alone on the farm or in town. We were able to provide care and
attention they needed yet they could be as independent as they wanted to be. On all counts health improved
for the seniors because they had 3 full square home cooked meals a day plus non stop snacks.
Seniors have enjoyed visiting around the dining room table with neighbors who drop in regularly. Activities
on the farm such as horse back riding and cattle drives are often viewed from the comfortable chairs on
the verandah. Seniors go for walks to the garden and rest in our park area.
